Trump Commutes George Santos Sentence for the fraud charges that got him ousted from Congress. On Friday President Donald Trump said that former Rep. George Santos has commuted the sentence of disgraced who has been serving 7 year.  After then this whole news trending on internet.

The president posted on Truth Social, “George Santos was a bit of a ‘rogue,’ but there are many rogues throughout our country that aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison.”
George has reportedly suffered terrible abuse while in solitary confinement for extended periods of time. As a result, I have signed a commutation that will immediately release George Santos from prison. Have a wonderful life, George, and good luck,” Trump continued.

Only months have passed since Santos, 37, turned himself in on July 25 to serve 87 months in jail before Trump’s commutation.
Before his surrender, Santos told the Saudi publication Al Arabiya English that he thought he “got stonewalled” when he asked Trump for a pardon.
Regarding his appeal for a pardon at the time, Santos stated, “I don’t think it made it to the president.” “Sadly, gatekeepers have blocked access so it can never reach the president.”

In August 2024, the former congressman pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and wire fraud charges stemming from activity during his 2022 midterm campaign.

“I deeply regret my conduct,” Santos said in court at that time. “I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

Santos was expelled from Congress in December 2023, before completing a full term in the US House – becoming only the sixth lawmaker ever to be expelled from the chamber.

There have been allegations that Santos faked aspects of his biography, such as his work history and educational background, during his brief tenure in Congress. In the end, he acknowledged doing so.

Before entering a guilty plea, Santos tried to run in another New York district and represented portions of Long Island and Queens.
According to the federal Bureau of Prisons, Santos had been completing his sentence in the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, which is located in southern New Jersey.
